Peru Tunki is Peru’s award winning coffee and is named after a locally found bird, which inspired the artwork for this coffee. This coffee comes from the Peruvian Andes, it is situated in the Tambopata Valley, south east of Peru, on the border with Bolivia.
This is one of the most difficult and logistically challenging locations, it includes a four day journey, climbing 5000 MASL to cross the Andes and bring this coffee to port.

I have ordered Tunki beans on multiple occasions, and I have to admit sometimes from a local roaster when Butterworths are OOS. However the Butterworth Tunki is always superior in taste. No wonder it’s hard to get hold of. I have tried many single varieties ; some very expensive beans , some that just have a good reputation but hands down pound for pound this is the best – at least for my palette. It’s great no matter what time of day or mood you’re in. It must be the best all rounder out there. Give it a go, when you get the chance that is !!

We are in our mid 60s and this is the nicest coffee we have ever had, by far. I just hope you get more stock in soon!

Really delicious coffee. Have made a series of utterly delicious cups using these beans and my trusty aeropress. Get them while you can!!

Another winner from Butterworth, always excited to try new beans and a different region and the Tembopata Valley / Tunki were exceptional, lovely to have the bar constantly raised , I think local business that strive for exceptional quality and service should be commended and supported, I’m happy to be in that club .

The Tunki really is a long term favourite, we’re in to our 11th year of sourcing from the Cecovasa coop in the Tembopata valley, a beautiful, remote area of Peru where coffee growing is firmly rooted in the traditions of the indigenous populations. Thank you for your review. – Rob B.
