Mahembe Coffee Washing station in Nyamasheke district is privately owned by Justin Musabyiama (pic 2). The washing station includes his own farm and processes cherries from 707 local farmers. Justin grew up in the local area and after moving away for some time decided to come back home and invest in the community he was from by building a wet mill on his father’s coffee farm. Most of the cherries delivered to Mahembe are from the Nyungwe Forest belt.
