Gaitana hosts over 1500 small farms, all above an altitude from 1700 to over 2200 meters, and from 1 to 6 hectares each. The coffees grown are Heirloom Typica, Bourbon and Caturra. Some of the plants are over 80 years old, fully organic, sustainable and environmentally protected. The area has recently been certified Organic by MayaCert and USDA. This altitude is where the real high-quality Specialties are found; the terra is enriched by the volcanic soils, and numerous fresh mountain streams..

Value for money this is hands down my favourite coffee from Butterworths that I keep coming back to. It’s perfect as a double espresso, or americano enjoyed at any time of the day – well balanced and full of flavour. I’m almost out so I really hope it comes back in stock soon!
