Coffee BBQ sauce

You read that right… But I beg you not to turn your nose up at it just yet!
This recipe is super out of the ordinary, and EXTREMELY easy to make. And trust me, you put this on the dinner table with some home cooked ribs and you’re in for an absolute winner.

My favourite thing about this sauce is that it tastes delicious with quite literally everything. Burgers? Grilled chicken? Pizza dip? Halloumi fries? Yes, yes, yes and yes.

But as per usual, you cannot take my word for it. Give it a go and then YOU can tell ME how good it is!

Ingredients
1 cup ketchup
1 cup brewed coffee
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar (I made my own)
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

  1. Combine the ketchup, coffee, brown sugar, onion flakes, garlic powder and chilli powder in a small saucepan; bring it to a boil and stir continuously.
  2. Once it’s bubbling, turn down the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes or until it’s slightly thickened… stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove it from the heat and stir in the pepper, balsamic vinegar, and soy sauce.
  4. You can consume it warm, or transfer it to a glass container or squeezy bottle until needed. It can last up to 4 days in the fridge.

See? Easy and convenient… I think I know what I am having for my dinner tonight.
