The Butterworth & Son Coffee Gift Guide 2025

The festive season always feels like the right time to slow down, share something comforting and perhaps discover a new favourite cup. At Butterworth & Son, that means good coffee or tea, good company and thoughtful gifts that last beyond Christmas morning.

This year, we asked our team to share their go-to holiday drinks and the gifts they would most like to give or receive. Here is your coffee gift guide from coffee people.

Rob – Managing Director

Go-to holiday drink:

“I love the acidity of a Kenya coffee first thing in the morning,  it cuts through the winter chill perfectly. Later in the day, I switch to Winter Tea with its panettone-like notes and aroma. It’s basically Christmas in a cup.”

Top gifts:

Coaster: Everyone needs a good coaster for their favourite mug.

Gold Bundle: A  great gift for coffee lovers from those starting their coffee journey to the home brew barista.

Cal – Technician

Go-to holiday drink:
Ethiopia Wubanchi is my firm favourite! With notes of red grape, blackcurrant, Assam tea and butterscotch, this fruity coffee is also so creamy in mouthfeel.”

Top gifts:

AeroPress Clear: Compact, sturdy and perfect for brewing great coffee. 3-in-1 flavour with no mess in about a minute.

Gift Card: Treat someone you love to the gift of coffee with a Butterworth & Son eGift Card!

Will – Head of Quality Control & Sensory

Go-to holiday drink:
“My favourite drink during the winter is my ever-reliable morning pour-over. However, I also really enjoy our Breakfast Blend Tea bags as it is quick and easy to make and take with me when I take the dog for a walk on cold evenings. I take the kettle off just before it begins to boil and brew the tea for exactly 2 minutes with no stirring and no squeezing of the teabag. I like how refreshing and malty it tastes.”

Top gifts:

Hario V60 Drip-Assist Set: A great entry point for anyone wanting to brew better coffee at home. It’s my favourite brewer and it removes the requirement of owning a gooseneck kettle and lowers the bar for entry. I would like to get more people into drinking specialty coffee and remove the daunting feeling of speciality.

Personal Tagged Tea Bags: Perfect for loose-leaf lovers who hate the mess. You can also get creative with your teas and tisanes, making your own blends to suit your tastes. They are also really handy when cooking soups and stews over the winter months. The teabags can be filled with herbs like bay leaf, thyme and rosemary, making a (sort of) bouquet garni which can be easily removed after infusion.

Tom – Head Roaster & Illustrator

Go-to holiday drink:
“I’ve been enjoying our new India Karnataka Washed. It’s clean, rich, and really stands out on cold mornings.”

Top gifts:

V60 Set: Including the iconic V60 funnel, a matching scoop and 40 filter papers, the set has everything you need to make your first cup of filter coffee at home.

Butterworth 2026 Calendar: Full of illustration of origin trips and life at the roastery, offering a little coffee inspiration for every month.

Dean – Production

Go-to holiday drink:

Winter Coffee is my go-to blend at Christmas, rich, warming, and perfect with a mince pie.”

Top gifts:

Great Tastes Presentation Pack: A brilliant introduction to our range and a good way to share Butterworth coffee with family.

Enamel Mug: It’s durable, it bounces if you drop it (though preferably not full of coffee).

Katie – Company Secretary

Go-to holiday drink:
Balance Tea –  it’s calming and pairs beautifully with a quiet afternoon of wrapping presents.”

Top gifts:

Infuser Tea Pot: An easy way to brew loose-leaf teas properly, no mess, no fuss.
Butterworth T-Shirt: Soft, simple, and perfect for any coffee lover in your life.

Edward – Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Go-to holiday drink:
“Our 4 Bean Blend as espresso to start the day, every day! Dark chocolate, toffee, citrus and hints of blackcurrant. Love this indulgent espresso.

Top gifts:

5oz Glass: Ideal for espresso drinkers.
Indonesian Bundle: A very interesting selection of coffees from the same region in Indonesia, Kerinchi, but processed 5 different ways. Great gift for the coffee curious.

Whether you’re shopping for a seasoned coffee connoisseur or someone just beginning their brewing journey, our team’s picks highlight what we love most: thoughtful, quality gifts that bring people together over great flavour.
